APRIL 3-30: FREE COFFEE+TEA AT PEETS!

PEETS COFFEE DEAL, ALL APRIL! Yep.

Starting April 3, EVERY DAY, 1--3pm, FREE COFFEE AND TEA! What a deal. Every single day this month, starting this Monday. At Peets Coffee stores.

They are doing it in honor of Peets' 40th Anniversary.

Note: I saw this in Westwood Village, but the sign made it sound like ALL Peets locations are doing it. In Westwood, Peets is at the NorthEast corner of Westwood Blvd and Lindbrook. There are several other Peets locations around LA (for example: on Sunset, in west hollywood; in Beverly Hills on Beverly Drive south of Wilshire; etc).

WELL DONE, DELL: 8 MORE DAYS OF DEALS

Dell is now running some extra-super computer deals and other tech specials, for the NEXT EIGHT DAYS; go to www.dell.com for info. Also see www.dell.com/dayone -- it is all part of their "10 DAYS OF DEALS" promotion.

One example: March 31st they had a super-loaded laptop with ONE GIG of memory AND DVD BURNER, for $499!!!!, which was $400 off! But alas, it sold out, I had found out too late.

Check their website every day (EARLY!) for the next 8 days, for their new daily specials.

HOORAY FOR BOUQUETS: GOOD DEALS AT DOTFLOWERS

Two dozen flowers for 29.99?
I'm no expert, but 24 red roses at this price sounds like a good deal to me.
Of course, with a last name like Rose, I guess I should know.

Viva la Web!
Check out the Dot Flowers website for more info on this and other floral finds.

AOL OFFERS FREE TRIALS OF SEVERAL ADVANCED SERVICES, EVEN FREE PHONE MINUTES

But they say it's only available for a limited time, and only to AOL members. The trials run anywhere from 30 days to 3 months. No charge to you if you cancel before the trial ends. Members can even get free phone minutes to use, whether they wind up signing up for AOL's phone service or not.

So, even though AOL has been making a big push into offering free online content (and making money with ads on such content), it still wants to get new paying subscribers, and this enticement is intended to show some of its cool advanced features (which cost extra $, above the monthly member fee). Examples: phone services via broadband, online music downloads, caller alert, and more.

For more info, go to www.aol.com

How will Google's recent investment into AOL affect all this? Perhaps Google will develop new services for AOL. Also, an AOL spinoff IPO (away from Time Warner) is one rumored possibility, in a year or two. Holy Deja Vu: Could it be AOL will become a darling Internet stock again, leading to late-nineties-esque mania once more? Stay tuned....
